TASTE OF TIMES SQUARE. Presented by the Times Square
Alliance, is your chance to sample "tastes" of delicious
signature dishes from Times Square's best restaurants. WHEN:
Monday, June 8, 2009 from 5pm-8:30pm. WHERE: West 46th Street
between Broadway and Ninth Avenue, including historic Restaurant
Row. ADMISSION: Admission to the festivities is free. Tickets
can be purchased at the event and are redeemable for "tastes"
and beverages at each of the booths. The main ticket booth at
46th Street and Broadway opens at 3pm; other booths throughout
the neighborhood at 5pm. Tickets can also be purchased ahead
of time at the Times Square Information Center beginning Friday,
May 29th located at 7th Avenue, between 46th and 47th Streets.
TRAFFIC JUSTICE/ANTI-TRAFFIC. Saturday, June 13th -
2:00 - 4:00 p.m. A protest march down Ninth Avenue. We DEMAND
safer streets! Please save the date. More information will be
forthcoming. Join your friends, neighbors and electeds. There
will be the formation of a funeral procession for several blocks,
stopping to place bouquets and plaques at sites where pedestrians
have lost their lives to vehicles on Ninth Avenue.
VOLUNTEER FOR A REWARDING EXPERIENCE: HELP REGISTER NEW
CITIZENS TO VOTE.
The New York Immigration Coalition is seeking non-partisan volunteers
to register newly naturalized citizens to vote. Naturalization
ceremonies are held Tuesdays through Fridays at the Brooklyn
Federal Courthouse. Volunteers usually work from 8:30 - 11 AM.
The Immigration Coalition will provide training. To register

OASIS COMMUNITY GARDEN is hosting on Sunday, June 21
from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m. an afternoon of music as part of the
"Make Music NY" Summer Solstice celebration. Musicians
around the City will give free outdoor performances. Hear jazz
ensembles ( The Project at 12:30; jazz saxophonist Ras Moshe
at 4), Grupo de los Vampiros at 3 and singer/songwriter Aileen
Morgan at 5. Program is subject to change. The garden is open,
weather permitting, Saturdays and Sundays 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. through
October; Wednesdays 6 - 8 p.m. through August; and whenever

SPRING GARDEN PARTY. The General Theological Seminary's
Chelsea Square Conservancy will celebrate the beauty of the
Close with a Spring Garden Party from 6 to 7:30 pm on Tuesday,
June 16. Jeannette and David Redden, co-chairs of the Conservancy
and longtime friends of GTS, will host the event. A tour of
the Seminary Close, the earliest surviving private garden of
